The School Song

Mrs Harrison, the music teacher at the time, wrote the first verse. The chorus and the music was adapted by Mrs Woodhouse, who was Headmistress at the time when the school moved to Strathfield from Homebush. Mrs Hay, a member of the English-History staff, added the second verse. So the song stands today!

We aim to keep our school name high,
To honour it until we die,
Remembering our golden rule,
Forever forward with our school.

So, give me your hand in mine,
And for Auld Lang Syne,
Remember days gone by,
Many a heart will sigh when we say good-bye
To dear old Strathfield High.

In time we all our leave must take,
Our places in the world to make:
In many spheres we hope to shine,
And meet again for Auld Lang Syne.

So, give me your hand in mine,
And for Auld Lang Syne,
Remember days gone by,
Many a heart will sigh when we say good-bye
To dear old Strathfield High.
